Howard Hurst

President

In 1886, Joseph B. Hurst and David Tipton started a floral business in downtown Little Rock. Under the leadership of Hurst’s grandson, Howard, the company continues to fulfill its commitment to delivering “Guaranteed Satisfaction” with every order. Following a childhood spent at the store, Howard became vice president after graduating with high honors from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in 1980. Four years later at 26, he assumed the position of president from his father, Joe Hurst. Since then, he has continually surrounded himself with extremely hard working and talented staff enabling expansion to Conway and Pine Bluff. Today, it is a full-scale, specialty retailer, with vast in-store and online floral design, plants, gifts and decor that meet the Tipton & Hurst standard of excellence. 

Chris Norwood

Vice President

Chris is one of the most recognizable faces at Tipton & Hurst and highly respected in the state’s event industry as a floral design genius. As the company’s vice president, he is passionate about serving customers and the florist community, previously serving as the National President of the American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD), President of the Arkansas Florist Association, and CEO and Chairman of the AIFD Foundation. He was inducted into the American Academy of Floriculture and is an avid supporter of Arkansas philanthropic causes, including the Arkansas Cancer Research Foundation, American Heart Association, Alzheimer’s Arkansas, and more. Chris shares his floral expertise and brightens spirits every Tuesday on KATV’s Good Morning Arkansas and through his internationally-watched daily “Happy” videos on Tipton & Hurst’s Facebook page.

Brooke Clanton

Marketing Director

Brooke brings more than four years of diverse, creative, and strategic experience to Tipton & Hurst. Joining the team in 2020 as Marketing Director, she is responsible for planning and implementing the company’s marketing, communications, and branding initiatives. Serving on the company leadership team, she is determined to amplify all customer experiences, from in-store shopping and seasonal campaigns to our digital platforms and online presence. As she engages with our followers and leads our marketing team, her focus remains the same: meeting the Tipton & Hurst standard of excellence!

Christina Day

Wedding & Events Director

Since joining the team in 2018, Christina has leveraged her organizational skills, creative planning and meticulous attention to detail to successfully oversee Tipton & Hurst events—from large-scale weddings to 2,000-plus seated dinners. As a member of the leadership team, she has helped expand the company’s in-store and online floral, gift and decor offerings and launch its full-service bridal registries. Whether she’s juggling philanthropic events, serving as a liaison to our VIP clients or keeping the events team on track, she remains dedicated to meeting, and exceeding, expectations.

Cara Massery

Controller

As Controller, Cara manages the company’s accounting and administration. She found her way to Tipton & Hurst in 2020. With a strong background in accounting and customer relations, her strategic and organized mindset makes for a dependable source of knowledge for our team. A jack of all trades, she does so much more than tracking finances, including office management and human resources. We are all so thankful for her contribution to the behind the scenes management of Tipton & Hurst.
